The Bible Believers Church of South Lyon began meeting in December of 2007
as a Bible study held on Thursday nights. The Lord provided a free building on Rushton road where we met for the first month of Bible studies. Grace and I were living in Toledo, Oh at the time and were members of Hope Baptist Church. After only one month of Thursday night Bible studies, we decided to pack up and move to South Lyon to start holding regular church services and see what the Lord would do. With much fear and doubt in our hearts, we started holding services on the first Sunday in January of 2008 in the living room of a house in South Lyon. The original group was made up of a total of eleven people, including three children and one teenager. The church met in the living room for two weeks until the cafeteria at the Kent Lake Elementary School became available to start renting. The Sunday morning preaching service was then held in the cafeteria of the elementary school while the afternoon and midweek services continued to meet in the home. Almost immediately God began sending people who had a burden to see a King James Bible believing, old fashioned preaching, hymnal using church established in the South Lyon area.

After about three months we had grown out of the house and desperately needed to find a place to meet. After a little searching God provided a place right in the middle of South Lyon across from the park. The building just north of the Lyon Auto Wash was sitting empty and had been renovaed yet sat unoccupied to this point. We originally rented out two of the suites in the far back, at a price only God could provide. Within about four months we had once again outgrown the suites we were in and had to rent out the suite next to it which doubled the usable size of our church building. We then rented out one large suite, the auditorium, and two smaller suites which served as the nursery, Sunday school and fellowship hall.

In the summer of 2009 I was able to quit my job and go full time at the church. Once again this was an impossible attempt financially but the Lord has miraculously provided every step of the way seeing as I am still full time by God’s gracious provision!

By mid summer 2010 it was once again obvious that the current facilities were notgoing to accommodate the growing church much longer and another move was going to have to be made. It has been my vision and that of Bible Believers Church to stay debt free and trust God to provide, although this seemed to be impossible at times. After searching the options and beginning negotiations for a larger space to rent, it seemed as though the church was going to have to begin trying to get a loan from the worldly financial institutions in order to afford the necessary meeting house. However, the One who owns a cattle on a thousand hills and the wealth in every mine, the One who said in 1Ti 6:17, “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain rices, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;” and in Philp 4:19, “ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” also said in Rom 13:8, “ Owe no man any thing, but to love one another…”, honored the desire of a bunch of lowly sinners saved by grace and backed the promises found in His word by providing BBC a debt free church building along with almost three acres of property in a beautiful portion of Lyon Township!!! Glory to His name!!

We went to work in late September of 2010 and worked our fingers to the bone gutting and remodeling our new meeting house in order to be ready for the first service in mid November. God blessed our first service in the new location with two souls saved. (The Lord had already blessed to the tune of eternity times two. If you can fathom how much eternity times two is please fill me in because its more than my mind can comprehend!) We have a lot more work to do by the will and provision of God and can’t wait to see what His future plans are for BBC!!!
